Enus: Welcome to another At the Drive-In with Enus and Otis. I'm Enus and this here's Otis.
Otis: This week we's is talking 'bout both a movie we done saw and a record we done heard.
Enus: Both are by country-folk rocker Neil Young.
Otis: The movie's called Heart of Gold and the record is called Living with War.
E: Heart of Gold was recorded at two live shows at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
O: Home of the Grand Ole' Opry.
E: Otis and I was 'sposed to go the show but our Chevy, Bessie, done broke down halfway to Nashville.
O: Thanks to Enus, we dog-gone missed our chance to be in a movie with Neil Young.
E: Thanks to me! If you aint forget to change Bessie's oil she wouldna broked down in the first place. And I aint the one who done brought the wrong stink'n map. We's was halfway to New Mexico fore you realized we's was lost.
O: Ain't my fault Bessie broked down, she's old. And you oughta know I aint no good with maps.
E: Let's just ferget it, we oughta be talkin bout the movie anyhow.
O: The movie we coulda been in.
E: The movie filmed two live shows with Young and other musicians like Emmylou Harris.
O: Before the show, Young made a record called Prairie Wind which was bout him being sick cuz of his brain terrorism.
E: You mean aneurysm Otis, and it aint only bout that. It's also bout knowing you can go at any time and that other people in the world get sick all the time.
O: How could all them songs be so pritty soundin' if theys all bout dyin?
E: Cuz Neil Young writes them songs to help him feel happy bout life 'round him. But his other record Living with War aint all too happy soundin. On this record Young writes protest songs bout the war and the president.
O: It's un-American if ya ask me. It's unpatriotic for a man to be talkin against the president like that. If he don't like what the man is doin then he should move on to Canada or somethin.
E: Whaddya mean unpatriotic? It's an American right to say what you want.
O: Where's it say that?
E: It's the first amendment dummy, the right to free speech, and Neil Young was born in Canada anyways.
O: You mean he aint even American?! He can't use the first amendment if he aint American.
E: He's been in America since the 60's Otis, and because anyone can say what they want in America, is why this country's so great. He even let folks listen to the record fer free. It aint even fer sale yet, not till later this'n May.
O: How's folks sposed to listen fer free?
E: He put it all on the internet on his website.
O: How theys gonna get music from the internet?
E: The music plays on your computer by itself. How comes you's complainin bout him being unpatriotic if you's aint even heard the music?
O: I done read all the song names. He's sayin he wants to impeach the president. Folks who say stuff like that is talkin like commies.
E: Dangit Otis, fore you go on talkin all nasty bout somethin, you best listen first. He wants to impeach the president cuz the man's doin nothin but lyin.
O: He aint lyin. The man's tryin to spread freedom all over the world.
E: Otis we only went to Iraq for oil, it aint because of freedom. Neil Young's right when he says we should impeach the president. I think if you done listened to the record you might think so too.
O: Aint no way I'm gonna listens to some Canadian commie.
E: Fine, then keep your mouth shut if'n you aint gonna listen.
O: Nu-uh, I can say what I want, it's my American right, and I says Neil Young's a commie.
E: And I says you's as smart as a cow eatin his own cud. That's about all the time we got here for At the Drive-In with Enus and Otis.
O: I says you's a commie too Enus.
E: I'm Enus and this half-wit's Otis. Y'all come back next time ya hear.
